Video Surveillance Kits

Is there a battery pack available for a video camera, sony preferably, which can allow for 70+ hours recording?

We are looking to use a video camera for surveillance purposes over a period of 2-3 days. It will need to be 30 frames a second for court purposes. Is there a battery pack or camera designed for this purpose? The budget is around £1,500 for the whole kit.

  1. The only way I know of to get 70+ hours of continuous video would be using a video surveillance DVR with whatever camera and battery supply system meets your needs. The DVRs available - that I know of, would be able to have a 1 terabyte internal hard drive. The camera would be a high resolution (520 lines of horizontal resolution) or better... and whatever battery system that will take care of the power needs of both. First you need to identify the DVR and internal drive - then the camera... then get their power requirements from their manual... then find the battery system that has enough amp-hours to last the 3 days you need. Interesting that the court requirement is 30 fps - that is aNorth American standard NTSC... But you budgeted £1,500 which is UK And PAL video standard (25 FPS) would normally apply. This will not be "portable". The battery array will be heavy.
